They compare notes and we discuss if they want to invest in coaching a particular person. Usually if it is questionable, I back away and suggest that the manager get coaching which can be a better ROI for the organization. When I can help a manager deal with a performance problem on their team, they learn some skills which are repeatable; a far better investment than coaching someone not interested in changing."
